"Belief"
Most of the people see swords as a weapon, but it actually has been used more as the amulet which protects the owner from evil sprits and disaster since ancient times. It has been said that divine virtues dwell in swords, and for this reason they were given to the newborn baby and newlyweds. The swords can be preserved for hundred and thousand years remaining its original beauty if you take care of them in a right way, and that is why I make each sword with all my heart and sincerity. While keeping the traditional techniques transmitted from generation to generation, I would like to introduce my own new techniques in order to make the swords distinctive from others. In my style, the base metal is “ITAMEHADA”(cross grain design), the HAMON (temper pattern of the sword) is “GUNOME MIDARE”(irregularly undulating hamon), the blade surface is “SUNANAGASHI”(brushed sand) and “KINSUJI”(golden stripe), the point of sword is long and those make my sword magnificent. I would be very happy if you start having interest in Japanese sword through mine.
